The Process

of Reproducing 'your' Art

The 1st step in reproducing Fine Art is a 'perfect' photo slide copy.

The preference is that you bring or send the art piece to be copied,

so that I can make the copy slide - and have the original work at hand, 

to refer to as I 'fine tune' printer settings.

When it's not feasible to bring or send the original art piece

 it becomes your responsibility to provide the 'perfect' photo slide copy.

(Please use Fujichrome Velvia 50 ASA prof. film, soft natural light!)

The 2nd step is a 'raw scan' to transfer the photo slide image to the computer.

The 3rd step is a series of editing corrections necessary to

duplicating, as closely as possible, the original art piece

and building a matched color print file.

The 4th step is a series of  print 'proofs'

 to assist the artist's choice of print media and format.

When this 'set up' work is done we're ready to make 'final prints'

- any size (to scale) that will fit on (up to) 24 in. wide media.

(The  cost of 'set up' work is $70 per art piece.

The client must cover all (actual) postage costs also.)

Note: All images are printed to scale - as large as possible

(with minimum 3/4 inch border) on paper/canvas size ordered.

Somerset Velvet Paper - $8.50 SF

a bright white uncoated heavy weight WC paper with soft rich texture

Waterford DI Paper - $8.50 SF

lighter weight, crisper texture than Somerset Velvet. - special coating for IJ printing

Hawk Mtn. Goshawk Paper - $8.50 SF

special made and coated for pigment inks, med. wt., smooth, vivid color

Hawk Mtn. Osprey Paper - $10.20 SF

heavier wt. than goshawk, same smooth coated surface, vivid color

This paper is available also in 24" wide rolls - any length to 50" @ $10.20 SF

Hawk Mtn. Osprey Textured Paper - $10.50 SF

same weight and coating as osprey smooth, with random WC texture

Hawk Mtn. Kestral Paper - $11.00 SF

heavier wt., rougher texture than osprey, same vivid color

Canvas - $12.00 SF

glossy or matte coated surface, heavy wt.

Canvas is available also in 24" wide rolls - any length to 50" @ $12.00 SF

There are additional (standard) papers we make available on special request

(We recommend the papers and canvases listed for 'fine art giclee prints'.)
